Last Days Of Night Shift

Today is the last day for my night shift.....

Feel very happy coz can have three days off.....

Look forward the next morning to come.....

Like the past few days after the report, do the routine things

Check temperature for all the kids in the ward.....

In the Peads ward , we need to take temperature at 10 pm, 12am,2am,5am (for night shift)......

This is because at night the kids more easier to get fever....

Fever in kids is different from adult, if adult got temperature around 39-40 Celcius we might just feel very cold, shivering, severe headache....

But for kids, if temperature reach about 38-39 Celcius , if we didn’t take any action they will go into seizure....

Seizure in kids will cause brain damage in them.....

That why we need to take temperature every 2 hourly.....

The poor things is some parents they don’t know how to appreciate our hard work and still will scold us when we go take temperature......

Like why you keep on disturbing my baby..... or now only she settle down, you all again come...... and MANY MORE......

I don’t know la.... Why sometimes when we do something for people. They don’t know to thanks but still want to complaint this and that.....

This make me very upset la......

Because of this la..... keep me moving on till now....

Fortunately, they are still people outside there know to appreciate.....

Lastly, want to thanks the staff in Peads ward for teaching me lots of things.....

Third Days Of Night Shift

The third night i work... Tonight i think very tired la..

Coz can't sleep well in the day times.......

After the report.. i go serve oral medication to a small girl....

This is the second time i feed her medicine...The girl at first she takes the cough mixtures but she also got one antibiotic to take...

The grandmother come out from the room and call me to feed her grandchildren....

So i follow her lo... When i want to start feed her... she start to"SING' d ( cry).......

The father saw all this then he " JIA LONG" go and take the syringe from me ( because children difficult to feed them, so we use syringe to feed them all the oral medicine) .

The next minutes after he push the medication inside her daughter mouth, she vomit out all the medicine...........

Poor girl...... Because of her dad...... She need to take another dose........

Wat i learn from staff nurse is if you want small kid to swallow the medicine ( liquid form).....

Pinch her nose and automatically, they will swallow the things...... But not all the kids you can do the same method to them o......

Second Days Night Shift

Due to the "SWEET" noise, i hardly sleep.. BUT wat can do?

LIFE still need to go on......Tonight i found something special....

There is a Iranian kid. He is very cute... but very pity him coz he had three thing buldging out from his head....

I think he didnt feel like that as he still can run here and there with the three burden on his head.

All the staff there like him very much coz he very kind to all the staff....

He even give me a packet of biscuit to me on our first meet...

Such a good and nice boy....

He will only sit quietly when the doctor in charge come and do round...

That night the doctor come around 12 midnight to inject some saline ( sterile water) in to his three buldging things..

Poor kid that is the first time i saw him crying....Hope that he can gat well soon...................

Night Shift

This is the first day i start night shift.

At first very look forward to work, but when i know i need to work in Paeds wards..Haiz...

I hate the most is small kids and BABIES.....

No choice need to work also......Start work d... first hear report....

Walau, Dont know wat they say specially the drip..

The most terrible is , most of the kids all got drip..... Aiz......

Finally finish report , follow the other nurse to serve medication.... you know wat i do?

NOTHING.......only follow coz cannot give to small kids...

The time pass by very "FAST" although i cannot stand d......

but due to "FACE' problem...... I just tahan.....

7.30 am the next day... the most happy moment ( can go back d) haha.......

But still got 3 more nights to go....... Before go back condo to sleep, Sure go EAT first la.......

Haha........After the breakfast take a bath and want to sleep.......

But got renovation downstairs..... OH MY GOD! how can i sleep...... err...err....

LIFE is.....................
